The Indian government has long been in the endeavor to provide better infrastructure to the citizens. Though some people will like to believe that the politicians had their personal interests before others. It may be the case in a lot of cases but overall comparing the Infrastructure development the country has seen, a lot has improved in the past few decades. It used to take more than 5-6 hours for me to reach my village from my domicile. Kanpur to Etawah used to take that long on a road that was a highway and no side road. Its just 150 odd kilometers. Now I can drive there in mere 2 hours.
The power in my home used to be cut for days at length at times, now its reduced to hours. It has to be noted that the consumption of electricity has risen at an alarming rate, while the production has increased at a meager pace. As such the shortfall is expected to last for a long time.
The government is not an omnipresent god or a powerful dictator. Its made of people like us. People who are prone to desires of the heart and corruption of the mind. However, despite everything, some things have progressed beyond imagining.
As a citizen, it is very easy to blame the government, as an administrator it is very easy to blame the citizens, but as a nation we cannot find anyone else to blame than ourselves. It is our collective duty to be diligent and vigilant. The nation does not need a vigilante who can fight this battle for us, but it does need vigilant citizens who are aware of the happenings and are genuinely critical of the steps taken by government. Politicians and Bureaucrats need to be praised for good things they do and similarly criticized severely for any misdeed. But the nation's population cannot be always blaming them for every thing wrong with them. A large part of blame actually lie with us.
There would be no bribe takers if there are no bribe givers.
There would be no garbage on roads if we don't throw it at every nook and corner.
There would be no need for so high policing if people themselves are vigilant and brave in providing information.
It is easier to blame than to act and acknowledge. Be brave and acknowledge. Fulfill your duty. India deserves it. Jai Hind.
This blog aims at highlighting the deficiencies of the general public in efficient utilisation of the Facilities provided by the government. The government has provided us with many facilities but, we as citizens think it as our birth right to abuse and destroy the normal working of these services. This blog aims at eliminating this mindset among people.

Responsible citizens
India is a vast nation with vast diversity. In my lifespan of 21 years I have been very hopeful for the growth of Indian society and its conglomeration with the world. This has inculcated me a sense of responsibility and as such I decided to blog my views.
The big question that comes up is that : Why is India still a developing nation ?
The reasons that I've come up with
Corruption is the root cause of most evils in India. We find all sorts of criminals, tax stealers, and many corrupt beauracrats. The root cause again is corruption. People are alluding the arms of justice on sheer power of money and neglect of the government employees. However, the aim of this blog is not to highlight the weaknesses of the government, but the strength of the common man.
How can a common man do something which can bring happiness, growth and prosperity to whole society. The first and the foremost thing is to treat the public places as if it is your own home. Not in a way that you claim it as your own, but care for it as your own. I find people travelling in Railways throwing trash in the train, at the platforms and places but rarely into the dust bins specially provided. And these same people are always there blaming the Railways for the unclean condition of the platforms and trains.
I ask my readers, do we have the right to blaim others when we are ourself to blaim. The main cause of this is uncaring attitude, arrogance ( noone is willing to walk a few steps to the dustbin ) and ignorance. If people are aware of their duties and have a sense of responsibility, these problems will be trivial. Its not an easy task to spread such awareness. But then, what is easy besides blaming others. I urge my readers to go ahead and spread awareness. This blog is one of my initiative.I will talk more in my next entry. Hopefully I will be able to convince a few good men to write a few articles for this blog.
